ABOUT ME:
I graduated from the University of South Australia in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (Honours).
I really enjoyed the time spent across my placements in my final year of University as they provided me the chance to develop a variety of skills over three 10-week periods. Throughout this time, I had the opportunity to work across aged care, paediatrics and diverse cultural communities. This allowed me to focus on building real relationships and skills that could be carried across to different community groups, ensuring the short time together was spent making meaningful progress towards shared goals.
Although it is difficult to choose a favourite highlight from these placements my most unique opportunity to learn took place when traveling to Ecuador for my final placement. Through this opportunity I worked with both children and adults across a range of disabilities and used pottery, dance, cooking and excursions into the community to facilitate connections and growth between each person involved. Finding creative avenues for therapy is something that I highly value and hope to offer in my own practice as I continue to develop my skills as an occupational therapist.
I chose to be an occupational therapist for this reason, helping people achieve what is important to them; whether that be accessing supports to help them be more independent, or making progress towards meaningful activities that might now be perceived to be too challenging to continue participating in. I love any opportunity to help people do something they can be passionate or proud of in their life.
Outside of my work I am passionate about finding time for as many hobbies I can. I enjoy painting, gardening, pottery, reading, spending time with friends and family and traveling when I can.
