Jayden O’Hare
Position title: Occupational Therapist
Office phone: (08) 8331 0566
Email: jayden.o’hare@livingtothemax.com.au
Geographical areas covered: Metropolitan Adelaide and Adelaide Hills. Other areas by negotiation.
CURRENT ROLE:
My role involves working closely with Department of Veterans Affairs’ (DVA) clients and their families to provide Occupational Therapy interventions that enhance their quality of life, ensure their safety and maintain their independence.
As a community-based OT, my role involves visiting clients in their own homes and providing recommendations based on their individual needs and goals. This may include things such as home modifications, falls assessments and education, equipment prescription, pain management and onward referrals to other health services or home supports.
The thing that I enjoy most about my role is being able to build and maintain rapport with clients, by working with them to ensure that they are able to maintain and reach their goals whilst living at home independently (and safely). I enjoy seeing the outcomes of OT and the impact it has on someone’s quality of life.
CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice in 2021, where my clinical placements revolved around psychiatric and geriatric sub-acute in-patient settings. Following the completion of my degree, I spent some time working in community disability. However, what I enjoyed most was assisting older participants with living independently at home for as long as possible. I therefore commenced with Living to the Max in June 2022.. Following the completion of my degree I spent some time in aged care working predominately in residential aged care.
