CURRENT ROLE:
My role involves working closely with Private, My Aged Care (MAC), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Lifetime Support Authority (LSA) clients within the community. I provide a variety of Occupational Therapy Interventions and Assessments based off my client’s individual needs and goals to enhance their independence, safety, functional capacity, psychosocial well-being, and quality of life.
Outside of work hours, I spend my time caring for animals, which include three cats, a Blue-tongue Lizard, a Southern Angled-Headed Dragon, several Marbled Geckos, Green Tree Frogs, and several Scorpions.
I also spend my time upskilling and increasing my clinical knowledge through reading, researching, and completing personal development courses, along with playing various videogames.
EXPERIENCE:
During my university studies, I spent several years volunteering through the Multiple Sclerosis Community Visitors Scheme, where I co-facilitated social groups and provided 1:1 social support to residents in a residential aged care facility. I graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor (with Honours) in Psychology in 2019 and a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice in 2021. My clinical placements included forensic, psychiatric, and geriatric acute and sub-acute settings, which enabled me to consolidate my knowledge and skills in these areas. I relocated from Melbourne to Adelaide and Joined Living to the Max in June 2022.
