Geographical areas covered (OT only): Metropolitan Adelaide and Adelaide Hills. Other areas by negotiation.

CURRENT ROLE:

As an Occupational Therapist at Living to the Max, I provide support to participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Lifetime Support Authority (LSA), and Comprehensive Third-Party Insurance (CTP). My work focuses on assessments for assistive technology and home modifications, ensuring that clients receive the right solutions to enhance their independence and quality of life. As a Team Leader, I also supervise my colleagues and collaborate closely with my manager to ensure we consistently deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy services.

My day typically involves visiting clients at home or meeting with them at suppliers for equipment trials. After completing assessments, I spend time preparing assistive technology reports and creating home modification diagrams. In my role as Team Leader, I support other clinicians, work on service improvements, and stay updated on the latest practices and guidelines related to occupational therapy and home modifications.

With several years of experience working with adults who have spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and other neurological or degenerative conditions, I have extensive experience in home modification assessments. I enjoy applying my practical skills in this area and working closely with my colleagues. I also have a strong interest in universal design, which aims to create environments that are accessible to everyone. In my role, I stay informed about NDIS guidelines for home modifications, explore new ideas in OT practice, and identify professional development opportunities for the team.

Additionally, I am accredited to conduct FIM Functional Capacity Assessments and am always looking for opportunities to use this expertise to benefit participants.

Personally, I love spending time outdoors and live with my partner in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. We enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring nature whenever we can. I’m also passionate about traveling, gardening, and cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends is important to me. A fun fact about me is that I’m an amateur woodworker, and I’ve crafted several small pieces of furniture that I’m quite proud of!

EXPERIENCE:

I graduated from the University of South Australia in 2017 with a Master of Occupational Therapy and joined Living to the Max as a new graduate. Before that, I earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Adelaide. My biggest career accomplishments include transitioning to working with NDIS participants who have complex physical disabilities and being promoted to Team Leader at Living to the Max. These achievements have shaped my career and continue to inspire my work.
