Something that I love about my job is that no two days are the same, and you never know what you might be doing next, ranging from small aids and equipment to assist with independence in daily activities and personal care tasks, falls prevention and pain management strategies to powered mobility prescriptions, minor and major home modifications, and pressure care management. I love seeing the satisfaction and the difference it can make in someone’s life when we can work towards and achieve their goals together.

I am also responsible for the portfolio of Cognitive Assessment and Rehabilitation, which involves remaining up to date on the latest assessment tools, latest evidence for intervention strategies and best practices and guidelines. I was selected for this portfolio as it is a clinical passion of mine. I really enjoy learning about brain function and furthering my knowledge and skills to best support people to continue to engage in meaningful occupations and experience a quality of life despite changes to their brain/cognitive function.

Student Placement Coordination: is a role I share with a colleague, and involves liaising with universities to coordinate student placements within our organization and developing student resources to facilitate their placement and learning.

I graduated from Flinders University in 2018 with a double degree in Health Science (Occupational Science) and Master of Occupational Therapy. While studying, I worked as an Allied Health Assistant at Calvary Rehabilitation hospital, which involved carrying out therapy programs with inpatients. I started at Living to the Max as a new graduate. In this time, I have been working with clients from a range of abilities and complexities within Department of Veteran Affairs, community aged care and the community adult disability sectors. I have actively engaged in professional development in the areas of seating, pressure care, brain injury, home modifications and am a credentialled FIM (functional independence measure) assessor.
