ABOUT ME:

I studied at the University of South Australia (UniSA) and graduated in 2019.

I chose to become an OT because I have always been interested in a helping profession. I then saw the positive impact of OT helping some of my family members stay independent in their home with home modifications and equipment which fascinated me, and I thought it would be something I wanted to do.

I am most passionate about helping people with home modifications and their equipment needs but love the variety of OT and am always learning something new!

I completed my community project placement with AnglicareSA, looking into service engagement with First Nations people. I then completed two clinical placements at the Queen Elizebath Hospital, one on the in-patient mental health ward and the other on the in-patient geriatric evaluation and management ward. Some highlights included growing my knowledge and familiarity with a wide range of people and conditions, learning how the community and hospital services interact, and working with people in individual, group, in-patient, and community settings.

I really value the generosity of clients in welcoming me to step into their homes and worlds, allowing me to get to know them and offer support and intervention that is specific to their situation. This in turn allows us to progress and see the positive impact OT input can have on their lives (whether that is a certain home modification, a new piece of equipment or mobility aid, or ongoing skills we are developing).

I enjoy reading a good book with some tasty snacks, baking, spending time with my family, friends and pet birds, and going to the beach!

A fun fact about me is that I am the current winner of the annual ANZAZ biscuit bake-off at Living to the Max.
