Konon Koijima

ABOUT ME:

I graduated in 2025 from the University of South Australia.

I chose to become an OT as the core values of OT which I believe is working with the client rather than working for the client really resonated with me.

I’m most passionate about opportunities to prescribe appropriate assistive technologies and recommend home modifications that can aid clients’ independence and enable doing activities that are meaningful to them.

My placements included:

• Placement 1: Repat Health Precinct Brain Injury Unit – Being able to assist their recovery journey and celebrate the small and big wins together was very rewarding.
• Placement 2: Department for Education (community project to improve classroom acoustics) – Working with many community members including school staff and acoustic professionals to develop a guidebook on how schools can most effectively manage the noise levels in their classrooms.
• Placement 3: OTKidz – My favourite part was being able to plan creative sessions around client’s interests and goals and seeing them enjoy it!

I value that the support I provide for the client is shaped by the client’s needs.

Outside of work, I enjoy going on long walks with my pet parrot and travelling during longer breaks.

A fun fact about me is that I love animals of all kinds, especially cats!
