Position title: Senior Occupational Therapist
Office phone: (08) 8331 0566
Geographical areas covered (OT only): Metropolitan Adelaide and Adelaide Hills. Other areas by negotiation

I provide occupational therapy services to NDIS clients living with a disability, their family and relevant support people and services. I typically undertake an in-home assessment of a client’s needs and help develop a plan around their goals and daily living requirements. If the client requires Assistive Technology (AT) to help meet their needs, I will prepare comprehensive reports for the NDIA to help justify the inclusion of AT in their NDIS plan. This often requires extensive research and trialling of equipment, particularly for clients with very complex needs and those requiring significant customisation. I also facilitate Manual Handling training for carer/support staff at Cara.

I am also responsible for the portfolio of manual handling and restrictive practice. I have extensive experience in manual handling assessments and plans and I enjoy learning about new equipment and keeping up to date with techniques and guidelines around safe manual handling and work practices.

I graduated from the University of South Australia in 2013 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy.

I commenced my career as an Occupational Therapist in residential aged care before joining Disability SA in the Adult Specialist Services Intervention Support Team (ASSIST) from January 2014 to January 2016.

From January 2016, I have worked for Living to the Max providing occupational therapy services for a wide range of clients and funding sources, including DVA, Medicare, private health insurance, My Aged Care, NDIS, Lifetime Support Authority and RTWSA. I have also provided clinical supervision and support to colleagues at Living to the Max.
