I have worked at Living to the Max for over 5 years and am forever learning and developing my skills. I love the challenges it brings and the different complexities I get to work with.

As a community Occupational Therapist working primarily with NDIS participants, I assist with identifying ways in which I can assist with achieving the individual’s goals. Typically, intervention varies from prescribing Assistive Technology (AT) including home modifications, mobility aids, complex custom seating systems, and so on. It also includes education and incorporating strategies to maximise function and safety. I am also experienced in conducting FIM (functional independent measure) reports to help identify a person’s support needs and, in some cases, explore suitable housing options.

I love having the opportunity to help people. I enjoy getting to know my clients and build rapport to truly understand their goals and needs, optimising the overall outcome.

I am also responsible for the portfolio of pressure care injury assessment and management. This involves keeping myself and my colleagues up to date and accountable with the latest evidence based research around pressure care and prevention.

Pressure care systems generally include mattresses, cushions, and chairs. I am experienced in prescribing such aids and have a keen interest in growing my expertise in pressure care.

I graduated from Cardiff University (United Kingdom) in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Occupational Therapy. My clinical placements included public hospital rehabilitation, community services, a special school and an elective mental health crisis team setting.

During study, I enjoyed being a care manager at a residential care home in the Alzheimer’s and Dementia department, and a lone support worker in the community, where my passion to help people grew.

After graduating, I emigrated to South Australia in 2011 where I started working in a clinical case coordination role while I gained my Australian occupational therapy registration.

  • Home modifications: minor through to complex
  • Powered mobility aids
  • Prescription of Assistive Technology (AT)
  • Pressure care
  • Falls prevention
  • Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and support needs assessments

Personally, I was born in South Wales, UK where my family still reside. I met my now husband back in 2010 in Cardiff just after graduating and moved out here to the Adelaide Hills where he grew up. Most of my time is spent with my 3-year-old twin boys; they are a lot of fun and remind me about how precious life is!

I enjoy keeping busy with pilates, running, and sometimes knitting and my favourite time of year is Spring/Summer when I love days at the beach with family and friends.
